I decided to do my third shoot because I truly believe it is the most beautiful gift a woman can give to herself. I have overcome a lot in the last three years from when I did my first, and I wanted to show that. I have worked hard for weight loss, sobriety, and went through a divorce. I think it is so important to be proud of the woman staring back at you in the mirror, but sometimes it can be hard. I feel like this shoot is not only empowering to see yourself as "sexy" but also to push the boundaries. I love the whole process from A to Z. Showing up and having someone glam you up, Shalista helping me pick outfits and talking to me like I'm not standing there butt naked. I honestly forgot I was nude pretty quickly. The image reveal is, of course, the best part to me. I am my worst critic, but when I am sitting on that couch looking at the pictures, I can't help but think, "DAMN, I AM HOTT." It helps me see myself in a different light. These pictures are for me, to know that on a day where my two jobs run me down, I am stretched beyond belief, and I want to give up..I can look at the pictures and say, "There is a fierce woman in there, lets keep going."
I think it is one of the most beautiful gifts a woman can do for herself. People say, "if only you could see me through my eyes" so their loved ones, and I feel like this gives woman the opportunity to see themselves how their significant other sees them. For me, this was my third shoot. I have made a lot of life changes over the last 3 years and with the weight loss, divorce, and sobriety-I wanted to give myself a gift of showing how much I have overcome and be proud of the woman standing in the mirror.
I knew from my other two shoots that I wouldn't go anywhere else. Shalista has the power to make you feel sexy and confident within minutes of walking through that day. Like you are just talking to a friend...you forget you're naked ;) Not to mention how crazy talented she is that is shown through every photograph she post on social media.
